In Kenya members of the LGBTQI-community often have to choose between religion and their own identity. This episode of Yle’s Ulkolinja-program follows queer Kenyans in a religious society while the country is considering legalising homosexuality.

NÄSTAN SÄKER

Emma can hardly wait until she gets to move away from the small town of Loviisa. Eetu wants nothing mote than to always live in the same house, in the same Loviisa. The short documentary Nästan säker (Almost sure) follows the two 16-year olds in the small town. Emma is interested in fashion and won’t slow down, even though she’s on her way into the unknown. Through Instagram she reaches out into the world she dreams of, but gets a taste of the harsh comments too. At the same time we meet Eetu. He drives around and around the town square with a surprising dream. The small town is a safety net, but a dead end too.

“Night Cleaners” is an exploration of the relationship between spaces and the cleaners who go through them at night.
After sunset familiar New York spaces turn into something else entirely; shadowy worlds where only the thoughts of the night cleaners can be heard.
A documentary about the people who clean up after us while we sleep.

A documentary about three elderly Finnish women who dance to survive.

Ritva, Orvokki and Kati all live their lives alone for different reasons, but once a week they attend a traditional Finnish day dance where they dance as close as they can with different people for a few hours.

My Turn dives into the beauty and melancholy of three women; their strength, humour and intelligence. And their love of dance.

They share their thoughts on independence, men and being alone.
